About Us
A Friendly bunch of women having fun playing rounders in Altrincham
We’re all about creating a welcoming and supportive environment where people can get active, enjoy sport, and make new friends. Whether you’ve played rounders before or are completely new to the game, you’ll always find a warm welcome with us.
Our club was founded in May 2025, when a group of enthusiastic players came together to start a social and inclusive women’s rounders team. Since then, the club has grown quickly, both on and off the pitch.
Our Story
May 2025 – The Club Begins
Our first training session took place at Stamford Park on 1 May, and the team quickly grew as more players joined.
In our early days, some lovely players – Alice (MWRL founder), Keisha, Helen and [name] from Sale Strikers – helped show us the ropes as we got started.
Frankie and Anj stepped up as our captains, helping bring the team together both on and off the pitch.
June 2025 – Our First Friendly
On 17 June, we played our first friendly match, an exciting milestone as the team began playing together competitively.
July 2025 – First Team Social
On 28 July, we held our first team social, arranged by Emma, our social secretary, which has since become a regular tradition for the club.
2025 Season – A Strong First Year
During our first season, we played a number of friendly matches and took part in the Manchester Women’s Rounders League Tournament 2025, finishing in an amazing second place.
October 2025 – Winter Training Begins
To keep the momentum going, we started winter training at St Ambrose, giving the team a chance to stay active and keep improving during the off-season.
2026 – The Next Chapter
This year marks another exciting step for the club as we join the Manchester Women’s Rounders League for the first time.
We’ve also designed our first team shirts, which we’ll be proudly wearing this season, and welcomed our first sponsor to support the team as it continues to grow.
